The six parties of China and Europe have injected over 8 billion yuan to promote the "second entrepreneurship" of Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile, and put Peugeot and Jeep new energy models into production in 2027.


On May 15th, with the theme of "New Joint Venture, New Leap", Dongfeng Motor, together with Changjiang Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd., Wuhan Financial Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd., Wuhan Economic Development Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd., Stellantis Group, and Dongfeng Motor Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as Dongfeng Motor), officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

Benefiting from favorable automotive industry policies in Hubei Province and Wuhan City, according to the agreement, the total investment of this project exceeds 8 billion yuan (about 1 billion euros), of which Stellantis Group will contribute about 130 million euros to comprehensively promote the transformation and upgrading of Dongfeng Motor Corporation. It is planned to launch multiple new energy vehicle models starting from 2027, simultaneously introduce Jeep brand production in Dongfeng Motor Corporation, and sell them globally.

Stellantis Group revealed that according to the strategic cooperation agreement signed today, after obtaining the necessary approvals and confirmation of the implementation agreement, Dongfeng Motor Corporation plans to produce two new new energy vehicle models of Peugeot brand and two new energy off-road vehicle models of Jeep brand at its Wuhan factory in the early stage of the project from 2027. The products will be aimed at China and exported to overseas markets.

Dongfeng Motor stated that this strategic signing is a key practice for Dongfeng Motor to deepen its "Dongfang Fengqi 2030" plan and accelerate the construction of world-class enterprises. It is a landmark achievement for Hubei to build a trillion level automotive industry cluster and deeply integrate into the global automotive industry chain. It is also a milestone for Sino foreign cooperation in China's automotive industry since the beginning of the 15th Five Year Plan.
